Congratulations to all involved in the GOM Resources who have now completed the Gas Delivery System (ENGDS) Project for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd.
Nine, highly qualified local OTI senior technicians tested some 22,746 welds over the period of this offshore project.
The Work Scope entailed the installation of a 28" x 282 km pipeline from onshore Kerteh, Terengganu towards the border of Malaysia/Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA), installation of pipeline tie-in skid and subsea spools, pipeline pre-commissioning, pipeline post lay trenching and the associated services.
OTI services also includes following NDT services – Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye Penetrant Testing, Thickness Gauging, Phased Array inspection.
For the GOM project OTI utilised its Phased Array Automated Ultrasonic Testing (PAAUT) system successfully testing.
OTI was the first NDT Company in Malaysia to be able to offer both conventional RT crawler systems and AUT Phased Array capabilities.

Oilfield Technical Inspection (OTI) based in Shah Alam provided the pipeline inspection testing that involved some xxx welds being tested by their team – that equates to some xxx km of weld material – and testing was undertaken on a 24/7 basis throughout the duration of the contract.
