Company Background

Oilfield Technical Inspection (OTI) is a Malaysian company, founded in 2005.

OTI provides expertise and equipment in third party engineering inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) and certification services. OTI is managed by a team of professionals who have been in the inspection business (both onshore and offshore projects) in energy sector for the last sixteen years. In terms of accumulated experience, its management team has more than a hundred (100) years of experience and has worked on more than two hundreds projects worldwide (from Russian waters to Nigerian waters). The cumulative experience of OTI workforce exceeds 1000 man-years in Inspection and related activities.

OTI’s qualified and well trained staffs, supported by a strong and dedicated management team which aims to delight all our customers by exceeding client expectations on all projects undertaken. OTI is one of the few companies worldwide which have the capability to design, manufacture and operate its own fleet of crawler systems. OTI also offers the following NDT services – Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye Penetrant Testing, Thickness Gauging, Phased Array inspection and others.

In January 2011, OTI became the first Malaysian NDT company to acquire Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Phased Array system from General Electric (GE). OTI is also the first NDT Company in Malaysia to be able to offer both conventional RT crawler systems and AUT Phased Array capabilities.

Zamrin Mohamed Daud

has been with OTI since 2008 as the Managing Director.

He started his career with PETRONAS before joining one of the Malaysian’s Government Linked Company (GLC). He has 15 years experience in NDT with 8 years in managerial level.

He has managed NDT activities for various projects : 300km offshore pipeline, 350km onshore pipeline and construction of LNG plant.

Suhaimi Baharom

leads the accounting, finance and corporate affairs.

He has more than 15 years experience in financial related management and has been involved in commercial and financial aspects of broad spectrum of domestic and international trade. He has been in the oil and gas industry for the past 10 years.

S. Vijayan

S. Vijayan’s scope of responsibilities covers training and certification as per the Amercian Society of Non Destructive Testing (ASNT).

He has 35 years experience in the oil and gas and power industry. His professional qualification includes ASNT Level III in RT, UT, MT, PT, ET and VT; as well as API Inspectors and Senior Welding Inspector. He is currently heading the AUT initiatives.

He holds a Master of Science (Physics).

NDT Techniques

OTI’s niche market is specializes in inspection during pipeline installation & related facilities inclusive of onshore & offshore inspection.

OTI applies advanced NDT techniques such as Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), manual encoded Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), specialized internal crawlers (x-ray & video) and other conventional methods.
Capability

OTI is one of the few companies worldwide which have the capability to design, manufacture and operate its own fleet of crawler systems.

OTI’s range of X -ray crawler systems are capable of inspecting newly laid pipelines with 6” diameter to 72” diameter, both for onshore and offshore.
First NDT company

OTI is the first NDT company in Malaysia to own Phased Array Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) equipment for girth weld inspection.

With the inclusion of this AUT services, OTI has become one of the few NDT companies which is able to offer both AUT and conventional X-Ray crawlers for newly laid pipeline projects for both onshore and offshore
